Have you ever imagined Bogotá without its eastern hills? Machu Picchu at sea level? Or Santiago de Chile set upon a vast, endless pampa? Difficult, right?  All these places—from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia and the Mérida range in Venezuela to Tierra del Fuego in Patagonia, shared by Chile and Argentina—have something in common: an 8,500-kilometer, fierce, and untamed mountain range called the Andes, the central axis of this curatorial proposal. This geographical feature has inspired, sheltered, and protected thousands of communities, artists, and souls captivated by its majesty.  “SER MONTAÑA” is a gathering of artists who, through their respective disciplines and interdisciplinary dialogue, conceive this mountain range as a home, a medium, and an end, generating reflections ranging from the formal to the conceptual.
