Estudio para mirar dos veces
My installation operates within the realm of expanded painting, exploring the tension between the pictorial object and the exhibition space. Through the arrangement of color planes, structures, and assemblages, the work proposes an active dialogue among color, form, and materiality, where meaning emerges from the physical relationships between elements rather than from a representational narrative.
The work functions as a formal laboratory; surfaces treated with painterly techniques coexist with industrial materials, textiles, and support structures, generating friction, contrast, and resonance. Light—both natural and artificial—is incorporated as an active component, altering perception and underscoring the installation’s nature.
The work does not seek to illustrate a preconceived idea but rather to create an immersive experience in which the physical presence of the materials—their scale and arrangement—acts as a perceptual trigger. In this sense, communication with the viewer occurs on a sensory and immediate level, shifting the focus toward an experience of form as an autonomous phenomenon.
