Sometimes, late in the afternoon, when light falls obliquely over the hills and rooftops, Bogotá stops being a city and becomes an event.  It is a brief, golden light that recedes before settling into a fixed landscape. Brickwork glows, mountains draw near, and buildings lose weight. What seemed static—a facade, a street, a silhouette—begins to yield.  For a few moments, urgency dissolves. Worries fade, the urban rhythm breaks, noise vanishes, and the gaze involuntarily drifts away.
