Susurros
In the “Susurros” series, chiaroscuro is more than a technique; it is a way of understanding: light inhabits not only the spaces it fully reaches but also those it barely touches—places where it merely whispers.
Thus, within these zones of shadow—amidst murmurs and the unspoken—lie hidden memories and visions that demand an attentive gaze to be perceived. In this way, light and darkness become a threshold leading to the unexplored and the intimate.
The images materialize on the surface through particles of light and ink, leaving their mark in places where time seems to stand still and mist prevails. Furthermore, the resulting images are not direct representations but rather reminiscences and suggestions of a geography that is internal and emotional rather than physical; this renders them intimately personal yet universally shared. Consequently, this process finds its embodiment in the discipline of printmaking—a practice demanding silence and repetition—resulting not in a shout, but in a delicate whisper that explores the boundary between the personal and the collective, inviting us to sense the places traversed and the emotional traces they have left behind.
