Fabulaciones Americanistas de un Ser Liminal 

Francisco Rodríguez-Prada  Macabre syllogism of the American ought-to-be: The American condition as a cultural construct shaped by the ideas, stories, objects, and political history of its inhabitants and their territory.  Artistic objects as representation and product of the American identity. The ethos of the individual as a fabulous tale of the ought-to-be of an American without identity or memory. The uprooting from the territory as symbolic heritage of an artist without a past.  A political history narrated through art by a liminal non-being that wanders between propaganda and desire. Plausible art narrates Americanist appearances of a dream never realized. Implausible art narrates foreign dreams that were realized.  Consequently, in their exhibition “Fabulaciones Americanistas de un Ser Liminal”, artists M. Jacobs and Rodríguez-Prada utilize painting, music, acoustic ceramics, and illustration as artistic mediums to represent the American condition. Nevertheless, this condition is understood as a plausible simulacrum between the identity of the representer and that “fabulatory,” implausible artistic object represented by their art: a trans-ethos, the paradox of American uprooting.
