Chagra-Umbral is a collective installation examining Putumayo as a hinge territory where Andean and Amazonian knowledge systems meet. Rather than a display on “indigenous themes,” it is an assemblage of living knowledge expressed through drawing, painting, photo archives, and weaving.  In the foothills, mountains meet the jungle. The Inga chagra dialogues with the Nonuya garden. Carlos Jacanamijoy’s use of color interacts with Master Abel Rodríguez’s (1941–2024) botanical line. Archives and textiles by Benjamín Jacanamijoy, Kindy Llajtu, and Eliana Muchachasoy activate memories of paths, family, medicine, and territory.  The project utilizes the public space of Centro Internacional Tequendama as an urban threshold. Just as Putumayo forms a geographical threshold between the Andes and the Amazon, Centro Tequendama acts as a symbolic threshold between center and periphery, art and the city. Here, knowledge is installed, shared, and confronted.  Chagra-Umbral proposes curating through listening, urging the city to listen to the foothills.
